What a prosthesis can and cannot do
Most worry comes from the wrong expectation. A prosthetic eye restores the look of the socket. It is not sight, a hidden camera, or a promise of full natural movement.
Five common myths
- It does not restore vision and is not a seeing lens.
- Full movement is not guaranteed; some motion depends on muscle and space.
- A close colour family is the aim, not a lab copy of every fleck.
- It is not permanent; polish and remake are part of the path.
- Lid comfort comes from contour and polish, not from more pressure.

A fair expectation
Ask for a quiet look at conversation distance, a colour close to the fellow eye, and lids that can wear the shell without scrape. The rest is settled in person.
